Tada! No I mean, really…

Ta to the Da!

If you were to tell me 18 months ago that I would be living the active life I am living now, I would not have believed you. My health was so poor that I could barely finish a yoga class or make it through the day without a mandatory nap. Not to mention the brain fog that made every decision, big or small, so difficult to make. That alone will make you want to take a nap, right? Oh and the aches and pains. They were enough to make you want to throw in the towel…

What is crazy is that I had almost accepted this as my new state of health. I chalked it up to aging—but can being over 40 really be considered aging? However, the fighting voice inside me knew there had to be more—and so I began to seek solutions. And what I found out and I am living proof of today is that the body has an amazing ability to heal itself…even at 42.

While this wasn’t the first time I had to reprioritize my health and seek healing solutions, it was probably my most in depth and extensive health mission. This time I chose to evaluate all areas of my life—physical, emotional and spiritual—P.E.S. While everyone’s health journey and solutions are as unique as their individual DNA or fingerprint, I do believe that P.E.S. are three pillars for experiencing optimal health.

PHYSICAL

Focuses on how your body is functioning at a biological level–the food you eat, the chemical toxicity of your environment, physical exercise, vitamin and mineral levels, hormone levels, etc.

EMOTIONAL

Addresses your stress levels, how you respond to circumstances, emotional health of your environment, how you deal with and have dealt with emotional pain, etc.

SPIRITUAL

Explores what is in your heart, what moves and and inspires you, your purpose and passion, what you are uniquely made for, etc.

Each of these pillars can be an immersive exploration so tackling all three at once can be overwhelming. So pick one, and once you have made a little progress with one pillar then start integrating the next pillar. Most people start with Physical because they are facing physical symptoms or a diagnosis. The physical is also the most tangible area to focus one. That’s the good news. The challenge is that the physical also requires quite a few lifestyle changes including a pretty significant change in diet. With our busy schedules and on-the-go eating a major diet overhaul to heal your physical ailments can be incredibly overwhelming. I know it was for me when I was diagnosed with the MTFHR gene (a gene mutation that prevents your body from detoxing) and five food allergies (gluten, soy, dairy, casein and egg) all at once. Talk about a diet overhaul…and yet I had very little energy or mental capacity to figure out and apply such a lifestyle change. From this almost paralyzing experience, the SupawesomeLife Cooking System was born. If you’re facing any diet or physical challenges, I encourage you to check out the SL Cooking System (SLCS) section of our web site. We’re so passionate about you healing that we offer you the SLCS system for free.

Once you’re feeling good about your physical state, I strongly encourage you to explore the Emotional and Spiritual side of healing. The extra effort to integrate all three pillars is so worth it. In season’s past, I have only focused on one pillar…the results were not nearly as powerful as integrating all three!
